Its striking finish makes your ice plunge as much a piece of designer furniture as it does one of the most powerful health tools. Delivery and installation of your Ice Bath or Plunge needs careful planning. Due to their size and weight we recommend a smooth, flat and hard surface from the delivery position at kerbside to where you would like the Bath to live in your home or garden. Any more than three steps, tight corridors or uneven ground typically requires specialist equipment and sometimes a crane. If you would like to discuss the details of your delivery please contact us.

International & UK Kerbside Orders: If you are an international customer or you select our UK kerbside option we will deliver your Ice Bath or Plunge to the front of your property where it will be placed on a pallet with a protective cover. To get your Bath into position, we’d recommend a local specialist removal firm (or several strong friends with some lifting straps). Setting up your Ice Bath is easy. Once you’ve placed your order we will share a video and short guide on how to get you up and running in a few simple steps.

UK Installation: If you are in the UK and choose our ‘Delivery and Installation’ option at checkout, we will work with you from the moment you place your order. When you place your order, you will be asked to complete our delivery form questionnaire. This will give us all the information we need to get your Brass Monkey® safely into place. Our team carefully will review your answers to ensure a smooth delivery experience for you. We will get in touch to discuss any challenges we foresee and work with you to solve them well ahead of delivery.

How it works

Yes you’ve read that right. Our patented technology means our ice baths & plunges run what we call ice cycles. When the bath is set to below 2 degrees, we freeze the bottom of the bath and release it in cycles, this creates 20-30mm ice sheets that break up easily and mean your ice bath can drop to zero degrees with ice in. The ice brings a whole new level to your cold water immersion that no other product can come close to matching.

Our ice baths and plunges are designed to ensure you can just say focussed on your immersion. We have 6 sensors all feeding into our software to ensure temperature control and ice formation is as energy efficient and precise as possible. Using our companion app you can schedule you bath to be ready when you want it to be bringing further efficiency to your bath. On top of that receive maintenance reminders to ensure your water is always crystal clear.

Access to guided cold experiences from a selection of Brass Monkey partners. We will add contributors and immersion experiences each quarter to help you get the most from your cold immersion.

We designed the ice bath and plunge to be as maintenance light as possible. Approximately every 4 weeks we’d recommend replacing your filter and once a year we’d recommend changing the UV bulb. Depending on usage you should only need to swap the water once a year, twice if heavier use. To ensure your water stays clean for as long as possible we’d always recommend a quick shower before jumping in your ice bath!

Sealed with Osmo natural oils to protect from water damage. Osmo oil protects all our wood finishes from UV exposure, algae, mould and also prevents the wood swelling.

Key Considerations

While our ice baths are made to be super simple to install and maintain, here are common considerations to consider ahead of your purchase.

Air Flow

The mechanical parts of our bath must have access to fresh air. Every bath has two grills. One at the rear, as shown in the picture, and one on the right as you look down the product. We can flip our units if required for a small charge. If you experience ambient temperatures above 42°C please inform us before you buy.

Dimensions

Our ice plunges are 170cm long, 92cm high and 91cm wide. They hold 435 litres of water when filled, allowing for displacement when you get in. They weigh 190kg empty and around 625kg when full. In the plunge, you sit up right with your legs bent, back straight. Every plunge comes with a step for access.

Access

When thinking about where you will locate your plunge, please consider the width of our baths (91cm) to ensure there are no obstacles, such as fences, gates, or doors, that would block the bath. Our plunges favour a smooth, hard, flat floor to wheel into position (they weigh as much as a piano). Sometimes we need to call in specialists to support delivery. If you are overseas, you will need to make your own arrangements for moving the plunge from the kerb to the final position.

Maintenance

To keep your water clean, we recommend changing your filter monthly and your UV bulb annually. This should mean you only replace the water every 6 months. If you buy a wood finish for your ice bath, we'd recommend annually using osmo oil to protect the wood and bring longevity to the finish.
